Committees

Committees form an important part of our interaction with community members and key stakeholders and are one of the ways that can help us deliver on the outcomes identified in the Community Strategic Plan.

‘Committee’ is defined as any Working Group, Reference Group or Delegated Committee providing information, advice, suggestions, and support to Council and staff when determining the best actions moving forward.

Council has undertaken a review of the previous active committees of the former Great Lakes Council, Greater Taree Council, Gloucester Shire Council and MidCoast Water prior to amalgamation.

Initially five new committees are being established:

  • Economic Development Working Group
  • Barrington Coast Destination Management Reference Group
  • Community Inclusion and Wellbeing Reference Group
  • Heritage Reference Group
  • MidCoast Council Sport and Recreation Reference Group

Each committee is guided by Committee Guidelines and a Terms of Reference.

We invite nominations for the above mentioned committees.
