The rejuvenation of Manning Street between Wynter and Albert Street roundabouts is now all but complete.
Only line marking on the improved road remains to be done which will take place in about two weeks, weather depending. In the meantime, motorists should drive with caution and observe signage in the area.
Jim Anderson Earthmoving was awarded the contract for the work which was delivered largely from 6pm to 6am to limit the impact on the community and businesses in the area.
The work included provision of disabled parking spaces, water service upgrades and replacement, installation of 450m of sub soil drainage lines and laying 150-300 millimetres thick asphalt.
