Wingham residents are being urged to only use water for essential purposes with supply to the town currently impacted by the flooding.
The pipeline that supplies water to the Wingham Reservoir from Bootawa Dam has been damaged and as a result the reservoir is no longer filling.
MidCoast Council staff are working to redirect supply from the Taree network to the reservoir, but this may take a number of hours to implement.
In the meantime, Wingham residents are urged to only use water for essential purposes to help conserve what is in the reservoir.
Some properties may also be experiencing low water pressure related to the supply interruption.
MidCoast Council will provide further updates as the situation progresses.
