MidCoast Council is supporting the community through a number of different funding opportunities.

Thousands of dollars have gone back into the community through event and festivals sponsorships, the Arts Support program, and Community Donations.

Some of the biggest winners out of these funding programs include the Gloucester Creatives NSW Co-op who will establish an Art Precinct incorporating a sales gallery, event and workshop spaces and Valley Industries for their Nature Care Sensory Garden project.

Both will receive $10,000 each in seed funding to go towards their major projects.

The Tea Gardens Hawks Nest Surf Life Saving Club will receive $2000 that will go toward the purchase of a PA System to improve safety on the beaches.

Council recognises the benefits events and festivals bring to the region and has committed $88,250 to create experiences for residents including the sponsorship of a regionally significant event.

Council’s Director of Liveable Communities - Paul De Szell said it was a great opportunity to highlight the beautiful region we live in.

“It’s all about attracting people and bringing them here to see what the MidCoast has to offer,” he said.

“It’s great for our economy, it attracts people to the region and events and festivals give our residents experiences they can look forward to.

Round Two of the Events and Festivals Sponsorship program will consist of almost $70,000 in funding.

Another $15,000 has also been allocated to four applicants who applied for funding under the MidCoast Arts Support program.

Mt George School of Arts Hall will receive $5000 for their theatre group, Kristina Chan was awarded the same amount for her Movement as Language project.

Amanada Muscio and Kim Hamilton received $2000 and $2920 for their respective projects.
