MidCoast Council will continue to support the work of the Manning River Taskforce, being an expert taskforce established to provide advice to the Government on options to improve safety and navigability of the Manning River entrance, which will appropriately inform Council’s Coastal Management Plan.

Coastal Management has long been an important issue for Council, with Councillors resolving at the December 2020 Council Meeting to call upon State and Federal members to proactively obtain sufficient funding for any actions recommended by the taskforce.

Council is committed to working with all levels of government, subject experts and stakeholders to ensure best outcomes for the MidCoast area.
