Nabiac Library

The Nabiac Library branch does not meet public library minimum standards.

The Nabiac Library usage figures are extremely low. Only 8% of the Nabiac community are library members. Over the past 5 years there has been an average of only 44 individuals who regularly use the Nabiac Library per annum.

Over the next 3 to 5 years ratepayers would have needed to spend $100,000 in building works, $96,000 in connectivity upgrades and almost doubling Council's annual investment to keep the library open.

The last day of opening will be Thursday 31 July 2025.

Nabiac residents have 4 weeks to return their library items to the Nabiac Library. From 1 August residents will need to borrow and return from any other MidCoast Council Libraries branch.

There are 3 other MidCoast Council Libraries that are regularly utilised by Nabiac residents.

Hallidays Point Library is 18km, Forster Library is 23km and Taree Library is located 27km away from the Nabiac village.

Council acknowledges the ongoing commitment of the small and passionate team of volunteers who have done a great job in providing the service to their community.

The Nabiac Library volunteers will be invited to support the Home Library Service outreach to the Nabiac community.

Residents from Nabiac and surrounds who are unable to visit another library branch due to age, illness or disability can access the Home Library Service. Residents who would like to know more about the Home Library Service can call 7955 7001.

The operations of all other MidCoast Council Libraries remain the same.
