Youth Strategic Plan

We're developing a Youth Strategic Plan, and while we're still young-at-heart, our plan will lack meaning and relevance unless we capture the ideas, opinions and concerns of local young people... that's you!

Once it’s complete, the plan will provide a framework for youth-focused support services, actions and initiatives for the next 3 years. These may be Council-led initiatives, or activities and services provided by local youth service providers who are also involved in the development of the plan and who will be instrumental in its implementation.

The first step involves a survey being undertaken by our project partner, University of New England, which takes around 30 minutes to complete. Get started and tell us what youthink by visiting their website here.

Note: If you’re 14 – 15 years old, you’ll need to complete the survey off-line and ask a parent or guardian to provide permission for you to take part. Hard copy surveys will be distributed through local service providers, or you can email us here to request one.

Hurry, tell us what youthink before the survey closes on 14 September.

Once you’re done, you can also register to stay involved through to finalising the plan which we anticipate will be complete and ready to go early next year.

Check back here to stay updated – we will report on the progress of the Youth Strategic Plan on this page, so bookmark it to be kept up to date.

This project is part of our commitment to delivering quality services for the local community, and is delivered in partnership with the University of New England.
