The MidCoast Advantage
With stable development and an unbeatable lifestyle, the MidCoast is open for business!
We've developed a Regional Economic Development Strategy (REDS) for the local region. Find out more about REDS and read the documentation here.
The strategy includes an action plan leveraging regional strengths such as our land and water assets, our infrastructure, and our location, lifestyle and amenity. The MidCoast REDS is linked with Council's Community Strategic Plan and Destination Management Plan, and provides a strategic platform for community, business and Council to work with the State Government in driving economic growth. It is an important plan that will help attract State resources to underpin economic projects and create employment in the region.
Here are some major reasons to choose the MidCoast region when you're thinking of moving into the area for work, or establishing or relocating your business here:
Location, location, location
We are less than three hours north of Sydney on the Pacific Highway. We cover over 10,000 square kilometres, and you can get to us by air and rail.
We have experienced significant growth over the last ten years in both residential and industrial development. Our aim is to:
- Lift the quality of development
- Encourage good development and good conservation outcomes
- Strategically plan for development across the entire Local Government Area
- Ensure appropriate and adequate services and infrastructure are available
- Promote lifestyle/waterfront development
Real cost benefit
Industrial premise leases are far more cost effective than in metropolitan areas. The availability of industrial and commercial land, as well as both affordable and luxury housing present an entire package for business wishing to establish, expand or relocate.
Diverse range of housing
Whether it be by the beach, in the regional city, deep in the rainforest hinterland or up in the mountains, there is a lifestyle opportunity with your name on it.
We're here to support
We recognise and encourage generation of wealth, employment opportunity, education and low cost of living for quality of life. As one of the largest industrial areas on the Mid North Coast, the workforce and businesses in here play a vital role in the economic development of the community and ultimately improved quality of living. We liaise with business and community groups to ensure our collective economic and industrial success. Ongoing programs identify the requirements for marketing and profile, rates, level of service, security and other key issues.
Aviation Business Park
Thinking of moving your business into the area? Looking for a space to house your plane while on holiday? Why not take advantage of the region's brand new aviation business park!
Council have recently completed works on Taree Airport's aviation business park, developed with joint funding from the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development. The $3.1 million dollar facility will provide businesses and individuals the opportunity to secure hangar space in a major regional centre. On top of being an excellent opportunity for business and individuals in the aviation industry, the park will benefit the community at large by bringing more business and spending to our region.
The aviation business park features twenty one lots which will be sold off in staged releases, with a handful available now. The typical size of these plots is around 850 square metres, which is ideal for a variety of business functions, including warehousing, recreational flight experiences, couriers, freight depots, or light manufacturing.
