Tuncurry Landfill ceasing operation from Monday 3 October

As of Monday 3 October, the landfill facility at our Tuncurry Waste Management Centre will cease to accept waste.

From this date, commercial and business operators who usually take their waste directly to the landfill at Tuncurry will need to take their waste to one of our other three landfill facilities – at Taree, Gloucester or Stroud.

All domestic waste not able to be placed in the red or yellow bins for kerbside collection can continue to be brought to our Tuncurry facility. All domestic waste brought to the Tuncurry Waste Management Centre will either be recycled at the Materials Recovery Facility, sorted in the Community Recycling Centre for transport to other facilities, or taken to our recently expanded landfill at Taree.

The change in operations has come about due to the landfill at the Tuncurry Waste Management Centre being at capacity.

Charges at all our facilities remain unchanged.

For further information on what can be taken to the Tuncurry Waste Management Centre from Monday 3 October, see our website Tuncurry Waste Management Centre.
