A 1.34km section of The Lakes Way at Mayers Flat is currently undergoing reconstruction, with works continuing through to August (weather-permitting). The section being targeted for improvements begins approximately 340m west of the Swan Point Road / Parsons Road intersection, extending to 970m east of Swan Point Road.

Project scope includes:

  • Widening the existing road pavement
  • Improvements to road curves
  • Reconstruction of the road pavement and finishing with a bitumen seal
  • Drainage improvements
  • Installation of guardrails in some locations

Work is being carried out, between 7am and 6pm weekdays, and between 8am and 1pm on Saturdays. Lane closures may be required at times with traffic control in place. Reduced speed limits will apply for the duration of the works.

Motorists are asked to observe all signage and directions from crews, and to travel with caution in and around the area. Short delays can be expected and should be factored into travel times.

The reconstruction of this section of The Lakes Way is funded by the NSW Government in association with Council as part of the $100M Road Upgrade package, and is part of our commitment to improving infrastructure across the region.
