Gloucester Road reconstruction

Reconstruction works on Gloucester Road, west of Wingham, will take place from end-February 2020. The section being targeted extends from Gloucester Road’s intersection with Dollys Flat Road, heading 1.3km west towards Killawarra. It is expected the works will continue over 4 months for completion late-June, weather-permitting.

The work is being undertaken to replace the existing road pavement, which is approaching the end of its serviceable life, and deliver a smoother, safer travel route. The scope of works includes road widening, rehabilitation of the road pavement, and improved roadside drainage. The Dollys Flat Road intersection will also be upgraded as part of the project.

While the road will remain open to through-traffic, work is being carried out under traffic control with lane closures in place. Reduced speed limits will apply at all times, and motorists are asked to observe roadworks signage and directions from crews, and to travel with caution in and around the area.

The reconstruction of Gloucester Road is funded by the NSW Government in association with Council as part of the $100M Road Upgrade package, and is part of our commitment to improving infrastructure across the region.

Please check back here for details on lane closures and traffic management as the project progresses.
