Gloucester Road, Burrell Creek

As an important arterial route connecting travellers between Gloucester and Wingham, a section of Gloucester Road at Burrell Creek has been targeted for improvement.

Road reconstruction works will be undertaken along a 1.5km stretch, from its intersection with Bootawa Road through to BoBo Creek. Commencing early June, it is expected the work will take place over 16 weeks, weather permitting, for completion in mid-September 2020.

The scope of works includes widening and reconstructing the existing road pavement to provide a smoother and safer travel route, improved roadside drainage, and finishing with a two-coat bitumen seal. Signage, guideposts and guardrail will also be upgraded as part of the project.

The works will be undertaken Monday to Friday (7am to 6pm), however lane closures will be in place at all times with one-way traffic managed under traffic control. Motorists can expect minor delays, and are asked to observe reduced speed limits, roadworks signage and directions from crews. As with all roadworks, please travel with caution in and around the area of works.

Along with important safety outcomes for the local community, this project delivers on our value-for-money approach, extending the life of the road and minimising on-going maintenance costs.

The reconstruction of this section of Gloucester Road is funded by the NSW Government in association with Council as part of the $100M Road Upgrade package, and is part of our commitment to improving infrastructure across the region.
