Argyle Street Barrington, rehabilitation
Update 19 June 2020: Barrington residents are advised of water supply interruptions for up to one hour each day over the next week. The supply interruption is essential, so our contractor can move the water mains away from the new road alignment. We’re also taking the opportunity to renew some service lines into individual properties at the same time. We apologise for the inconvenience while these important works are underway. Road rehabilitation works will be undertaken along a 400m section of Argyle Street in Barrington, between 50 Argyle Street and the Dunmore Street intersection.
The project will commence on Monday 20 April 2020 and continue over 14 weeks, weather-permitting.
Project scope includes:
- Addressing the current road alignment
- Rehabilitating and resurfacing the worn road pavement
- Renewal of kerb and guttering
- Improved drainage.
Through traffic will be maintained under traffic control for the duration of the works, however restrictions to on-street parking may be required at times.
Access to properties within the work zone may also be disrupted intermittently, when our crews will liaise with affected property owners and businesses to minimise disruption.
This project is part of MidCoast Council’s commitment to improving infrastructure across the region, and has been part-funded through the NSW Government’s “Fixing Country Roads” program as part of the Thunderbolts Way Corridor Strategy.
