What better way to celebrate the beginning of Summer than with the annual outdoor live youth music event, Summerfest.

This will be the eighth annual Summerfest, an event that showcases young local performers as well as established acts from around the country.

The event is planned and run by the Manning Youth Action Team (MYAT) and is the culmination of the popular Live n Loud music events that have been held throughout the year.

“This year we have had consistent turnouts to our Live n Loud events and with such an awesome lineup we’re sure Summerfest will bring in a good crowd to see out a fantastic year of live music,” said Russell Ingram, MidCoast Council’s Community Strengthening Officer (Youth).

Melbourne based pop-rockers 'MOBS' will headline this year’s event with central coast band 'Sunday Avenue' providing main support. Local acts including Hudson Rose, Dime Junkie, 5% Panic and Chelsea Harvey will round out the lineup.

“Summerfest has been a great place for local acts to really hone their skills and get their live music experience up, with the support of a local crowd. It’s invaluable for them and it’s so good for our young people across the MidCoast to be able to enjoy live music in a fun, safe environment,” Russell added.

Summerfest will be held at Harry Bennett Park on Saturday 7 December with gates opening at 3:30pm and the event running from 4pm to 8pm. Entry is just $10 at the gate and this is a drug and alcohol free event.

Funding support for Summerfest comes from Indent (MusicNSW).
