Free webinar: access population statistics

Published on 03 August 2021

If you need accurate information about the MidCoast population for business and marketing planning or to help you win grants, don’t miss free community webinars this August.

"MidCoast Council provides demographic information, expertly presented by .id, free on our website for everyone to access, and once again, we're pleased to be able to provide workshops to guide people through the vast amounts of information that's there," says Council's Coordinator Community Strengthening, Lyndie Hepple.

“This year things will be a little different, as our expert from Melbourne can’t present in person.”

The planned information sessions will be streamed live on Council’s website, and also recorded and made available as webinars for community to access at their convenience.

The company .id brings together teams of demographic and spatial analysts, urban economists, industry sector experts, IT and data management specialists, and is the largest population forecasting team in the country.

"In the past in-person workshops have been well attended, and if you’ve attended previously, we encourage you to participate in the webinar, there are new things to learn every year."

This time, .id’s Census expert Glenn Capuano will explore some of the impacts the COVID pandemic has had on community, and separate sessions will cover an overview of the .id website presented as refresher training, and an introduction and overview of the new module.

The freely available information includes population statistics, including community and area profiles, age break downs, socio-economic status, home ownership and much more. Population growth forecasts and economic profiles of the area are included, providing valuable information for strategic and future planning.

If you're part of a community group, the statistics can help you demonstrate need for your funding applications - vital to helping you secure grants.

The workshops will also benefit businesses, students, educational institutions and government agencies, allowing for better marketing, strategic planning and improving community outcomes across a range of social activities.

Free webinars will be available from Tuesday 17 August, including:

8.45am     COVID Impacts demographic briefing

9.45am     General .id website overview refresher on all tools

11am website features presentation.

Visit at the allotted time, and join the presentation via the link.

The sessions will be recorded and posted on our website afterwards so that those who can't watch live can still benefit from Glenn's knowledge.
