MidCoast residents aged 15-24 have an opportunity to attend free workshops to learn the basics of audio engineering and then to practice on a real production.

The Reverb: Audio Engineering Workshops, now in their third year, provide young people with an opportunity to learn from industry professionals at the Manning Entertainment Centre.

Over a series of three sessions, participants learn the basics of audio engineering from the science of sound through to large scale production elements and speaker systems. Following the workshops, the participants will be given the opportunity to operate the audio console and other production equipment for the performance of Live 'n' Loud on Friday 27 September, under the supervision of the Manning Entertainment Centre staff.

“The workshops give the participants hands-on experience, and a valuable chance to operate sound for a real production,” said Manning Entertainment Centre Theatre Manager, Chris Tippett.

“The MEC is delighted to foster the acquisition of skills vital to successful theatre production amongst the MidCoast community.”

“Reverb workshops provide participants with increased confidence in their production abilities and help to develop a greater understanding of what it takes to be a professional sound and lighting technician,” says Russell Ingram, MidCoast Council's Community Strengthening Officer - Youth.

The workshops will take place on Tuesday 24, Wednesday 25 and Friday 27 September from 4pm - 6pm and are open for young people aged 15-24 years old. Places are limited, so don’t delay - complete the form here to apply:
