Final rural mapping workshop for MidCoast region
Published on 12 March 2018
After initial workshops held in February, the NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI) will hold a final workshop in Gloucester on Thursday 22 March to finalise a project that maps important agricultural land and assist in land use planning across the MidCoast region.
MidCoast Council is a participant in this project which is part of a NSW-wide plan to provide more relevant agricultural mapping than is currently available. The project will help provide information regarding agricultural industries on the MidCoast and assist Council to undertake local and regional planning to help foster growth and reduce land use conflict.
The second workshop will be held at MidCoast Council's Gloucester office on Thursday 22 March from 9am until 11.30am, and will provide an opportunity to review and comment on the draft maps and criteria developed for industry and agriculture in our region. These drafts have been developed after the initial workshops held in Taree and Gloucester in February.
Farmers, agricultural industries and businesses, local government representatives, Local Land Services, DPI industry development officers and other NSW government agencies are welcome to attend this workshop.
Please RSVP by 19 March via email to: firstname.lastname@example.org or by phoning 0437 645 719. A light lunch will be provided.
