MidCoast Libraries’ ever popular Storytime events will be getting a boost when local author Shane Peters, hosts a series of ‘Storytimes’ to give a reading of his new book.

Skylah Dreams is Shane’s first published Children’s book, after he began his writing journey in 2015 following a long-time dream to become a children’s author.

Skylah Dreams is the first instalment of his series and is the story of a little girl who dreams of all the things she would like to be when she grows up.

“We just love our Storytime events across the MidCoast and to have a local author with us to read his very own book to the children, is really special,” said MidCoast Council Libraries Manager, Chris Jones.

Shane will head to a number of Storytime events across the MidCoast including:

  • Tea Gardens Library on Monday 5 August from 9.30am to 10.30am
  • Wingham Library on Monday 12 August from 10.30am to 11.30am
  • Taree Library on Thursday 15 August from 10.30am to 11.30am
  • Hallidays Point Library on Friday 16 August from 10.30am to 11.30am
  • Gloucester Library on Monday 19 August from 10am to  11am
  • Forster Library on Wednesday 21 August from 10.30am to 11.30am
  • Stroud Library on Friday 23 August from 10.30am to 11.30am

“These events are a great opportunity for the children and their parents and carers to meet the author and listen to the book being read, exactly as it was intended to be,” added Chris.
