Council Services - Christmas / Summer holidays

MidCoast Council provides essential services over the Christmas holiday period to ensure residents and holiday makers continue to enjoy our beautiful region.
All waste collections continue to operate as normal - but please put your bins out the night before - as collection times may vary. You can check bin collection days for your street here.
The Manning Regional Art Gallery is opening on its regular hours throughout the holidays, please see below for details.
Our other non-essential services do have some closures over the summer holiday period. Please see below for closure details:
Landfills & recycling
Tea Gardens Waste Transfer Station will open an extra day, on Saturdays from 8am -12pm, from 23 December - 27 January.
Excess domestic recycling is accepted without charge at any of Council’s Landfills or Transfer Stations.
Council swimming pools at Gloucester, Krambach, Nabiac, Bulahdelah, Tea Gardens, Tuncurry and Stroud will be closed:
- Christmas day only Monday 25 December.
Please check with YMCA operators for pools at Forster (Great Lakes Aquatic Centre), Taree (Manning Aquatic Centre) and Wingham Memorial Swimming Pool.

The Gallery will be open as per its regular opening hours throughout the holiday period. Check the Gallery's opening hours here.
Cemeteries - Burials
Restricted Burial Services will apply from 12pm Friday 22 December 2017 up to and including Monday 8 January 2018, as follows:
- morning services only will be available on Friday 22 December, Friday 29 December and Friday 5 January;
- there will be no services from Saturday 23 December - Wednesday 27 December inclusive;
- normal services will be available on Thursday 28 December, Wednesday 3 January, Thursday 4 January and Monday 8 January.
Normal services will resume on Tuesday 9 January 2018.
Contact the ‘On-Call’ Cemetery Officer on 0427 104 798 for all arrangements over the holiday season.
Notice Required for Grave Digging Requests - a minimum of 48 hours is required for cemeteries that require the use of Council’s grave digging facilities. However additional notice is greatly appreciated during this period.
