MidCoast Council is currently exhibiting the development application for repurposing the old Masters site at Biripi Way into a centralised Council administration office, with submissions invited until Friday 6 December.

The development application, lodged last week, is for the change of use and fitout of the site to a public administration building, which will include a customer service centre, Council chambers, offices and a café.

Copies of the plans and application documents – including a statement of environmental effects, an economic impact assessment and a traffic impact assessment - are available to the community during the exhibition period via Council’s website, where members of the community can also make a submission on the application.

Information on how to make an effective submission is also available online, outlining the process and what information should be supplied, including specific reasons for supporting or objecting to the application. These reasons should be based on the planning and development issues relevant to the application.

At the end of the exhibition period, a determination on the application will be made by the Hunter and Central Coast Regional Planning Panel, an independent body (not MidCoast Council). The panel will take into account an assessment report prepared by an external planning consultant engaged by Council, public submissions made during exhibition and relevant planning legislation and policies.
