We are seeking feedback on the proposed rezoning of land to enable the future extension of the Gloucester Sewage Treatment Plant. The rezoning will allow for the construction of a new plant at 84 Showground Road, Gloucester (Lot 405 DP 980328) which is south of the existing plant. This new plant will service the community needs of Gloucester and Barrington to 2050 and beyond and will improve the environmental outcomes for the treatment of sewage.
The area of land to be included in the infrastructure zone for the extension is shown in the map (below) with a red border. While the zone of the whole site will be changed from the Environmental Management (E3) zone to the Infrastructure (SP2) zone, the future extension works will involve a small area fronting Showground Road (refer to the map above).
Check out the planning proposal which provides details on why the zone is being changed and addresses any impacts.
The Gloucester Sewage Treatment Plant Planning Proposal will be open for community feedback from Wednesday 25 August 2021, until Friday 1 October 2021.
