Glenthorne employment area rezoning

We want to hear from you about a proposal to rezone land along Manning Drive at Taree South.

The proposal involves rezoning rural land to the east of Manning River Drive for a commercial/industrial precinct that will be divided into 3.5Ha for business zoning and 13.7Ha for industrial zoning with plans to access via Glenthorne Road at the existing roundabout at Manning River Drive and future plans to have an access road from Manning River Drive in the west to the site.

There is also a draft Development Control Plan (DCP) accompanying this proposal so that the development occurs with a high level of amenity of the gateway entrance to Taree and to make sure that an orderly development occurs. The DCP also ensures associated environmental corridors, key habitat and watercourse areas are preserved and enhanced.

Obtaining feedback from the community is an important step before the proposal is further considered by Councillors and the State Government.

The rezoning proposal will be on public exhibition from 30 March 2021 to 10 May 2021.
