MidCoast Council has begun the next round of community consultations on the Forster civic precinct to coincide with public exhibition of the planning proposal along with Enyoc's development application (DA) for the integrated mixed use development of the site.

"The community is understandably excited by this long awaited project and we are also very pleased to be able to move forward with this major project which will deliver a much-needed public library, new visitor information centre and flexible community space for Forster" said MidCoast Council's Director of Corporate and Business Systems, Steve Embry.

The two public exhibitions, of the DA and planning proposal, run from Wednesday 17 May until Friday 16 June. An exhibition of the civic precinct project, including a 3D model of the site and copies of the planning proposal and DA, will be on display at the Forster administration office throughout the consultation period.  You can visit any time during normal office hours to view the display.

Our Project team will also be on hand during three drop-in sessions to be held at the Forster Administration Office to answer any questions you may have about the project. The first drop-in session, on Monday 29 May from 7am - 9am will provide local businesses with a chance to come along and have their queries answered.  Following that session, a community drop-in session will run from 10am - 12pm, which is open to everyone.

On Wednesday 31 May an evening community drop-in session from 5pm - 7pm will be held for those that couldn't make one of the earlier sessions.

"All three sessions will be attended by Council's project team and representatives from Enyoc, and although we've specifically invited the business community to the first session, everyone's welcome to drop in at any session that suits" says Steve Embry.

If you can't make a session or visit the information display from 17 May - 16 June, you can visit our 'Have your say' page (see the link on the right) where you can access information about the project and the DA and planning proposal, watch videos explaining the proposal and lodge your submissions.

Written submissions on both the planning proposal and the development application must be received by 4.30pm at Council's Forster office.  You can complete the online submission forms, or provide your written comments (following the instructions on the website) via email to council@midcoast.nsw.gov.au or by post.
