Return & Earn

To complement Midcoast Council's kerbside recycling services, the NSW Government is delivering the largest litter reduction scheme ever introduced in NSW- the NSW container deposit scheme, Return and Earn.

Return and Earn has been introduced to reduce drink container litter across the State.

Local collection points

There are currently two local collection points, a reverse vending machine in the Forster Woolworths carpark, and a manual collection point in Tuncurry.

Resource Recovery are operating a manual collection point at their 12 Dee Crescent Tuncurry premises.

Members of the community are advised that as this is a manual collection point and as items need to be individually counted, there may be some delays. There is a limit of 500 containers per person per day. Identification and a declaration will be required.

Operating hours are:

  • Monday - 8.30am – 12.30pm
  • Tuesday- 8.30am – 12.30pm
  • Wednesday - 12.30pm – 4.30pm
  • Thursday- 12.30pm – 4.30pm
  • Friday - CLOSED
  • Saturday - 12 noon – 4pm
  • Sunday - 8.30am – 12.30pm
