It's an exciting time for Gloucester Library, as we plan a switchover through August 2017 to join the MidCoast Library Group. We're fortunate to have received a grant from the State Library of NSW for $172,658 which will allow us to renovate the entire interior of the library, providing a contemporary library space for the Gloucester community. We'll be holding consultations with you to help plan the renovation.
Other benefits the Gloucester Library will now have access to will include:
access to resources from 10 different libraries;
more DVDs available for borrowing, new stock and expansion of collections;
no fines for overdue books;
the Gloucester resources will be tailored to meet the local community needs;
Newcastle library memberships
Until 31 December 2017 your Newcastle membership will be valid for use at Newcastle, Port Stephens and Dungog libraries and for online resources. If you wish to remain a member with these facilities you will need to renew your membership at one of those locations.
Until the switchover is completed any existing reserves will be filled from Newcastle. After switchover new reserves or suggestions for purchase will be done through Midcoast Libraries.
More information is available on the Switchover Q&As(PDF, 209KB) sheet.
